Test cases of Digital Twin with Industrial Partners
The Digital Twin in the real-world environment!
We will produce knowhow and expertise for all Euregio on Digital Twins and material exploited directly in WP 1, 2 and 3 based on test cases. These will be proof of concept implementations comprising digital twins in a real-world environment in cooperation with industrial and societal partners.
We want to bring added value complementing and going beyond the academic state-of-the-art on digital twins, by connecting the academic partners (the educational system) with society at large (the industrial and societal actors) addressing the concrete expectations of todays and tomorrow’s labor markets. These test cases focus on what differentiates digital twin technology from related established technologies such as digital mock-ups and simulation.
Initially, we establish a joint approach and view on digital twins. From that common understanding, test cases are implemented as follows:
-
On the one hand, there is one principal in-depth test case: it develops digital twins for human beings. Integration of this digital twin for humans in the other in-depth test cases generates knowhow concerning interoperability.
-
On the other hand, there are small test cases all along the duration of the project, to test digital twins and answer quickly to industrial partners and their will to explore rapidly digital twins for their business.
-
The final task investigates the deployment of digital twins separated by firewalls aiming at a Web of Twins on the Internet.
Throughout the project’s duration, the initial common understanding is updated and expanded with lessons learned in collaboration with work packages 1, 2 and 3. This ensures that suitable novel material for the digital twin academy is produced.
In this WP we adopt a state-of-the-art development and implementation methodology. With this approach we maximize early learning and prioritizes risk reduction and containment. This involves a fixed deadline, variable outcomes approach where the early outcomes are targeting early learning and team-wide communication. At each deadline, the work package team revises its action plan based on what was learned from the latest results.
